She was born on 31 August 1996 in Union, Kentucky, US, and she will turn 26 on her birthday in 2022.
Her father, Rich Hempel, is the CEO and co-founder of eCoach, a digital platform for elite sports instruction.
Hempel was a regular starter for her high school’s volleyball team and captained it on three occasions. She also became a prominent member of the college volleyball team between 2015 and 2017.
Harper Hempel holds a degree in Marketing and Digital Media from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics.
She began photography after college, eventually starting her own company, Harper Hempel Photography, and enjoys capturing special moments in personalised sessions with individuals and groups.
Asides from work, she is a fan of sports footwear and has an impressive collection of kicks. Her favourites are Nike Jordan shoes, but she also wears other brands.
She began dating Jamal Murray, a Canadian professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), from college.
On 19 February 2021, Murray became the first player in NBA history to score 50 points without attempting a free throw in the game against Cleveland Cavaliers.
In March 2020, a video surfaced on Jamal Murray’s Instagram page showing his girlfriend, Hempel, engaging in oral intercourse with him. He quickly deleted the video and apologised, but many people already downloaded it.
